Hey all.. So yea.. A long time ago I dabbled with WowEmu, the one that ran on 1.7.1 / 1.8.0 back in the day. It functioned, but just barely.
I've been reading up lately, thinking of giving it another shot. Seemed reaper-x's repacks were some of the best, but also see he's not doing em anymore. I need help, and the best, most logical thing to do I think is just drop some q's:
1. Anything is great, long as it works better than that original one I mentioned earlier. I'm guessing "newest" is always the best round here. Would ya'll recommend reapers last (5472) I think it is), or something like the Trinity 3.1.3?
2. Tied into to #1. I actually d/led the reaper5472 last night. Problem I'm running into is I cannot find these exact versions. Like I said.. I've got 1.8.0 installed currently, can't get the proper maps/files extracted from it, of course. Yet - No where, in internet searches can I find a 5472 release. It says on his site 5472 the 2.3.3 wow release.. Yet, other sites say 2.3.3 is like.. 7799, FAR from 5472.. So that leaves me with exactly NO idea what to get my client patched to. Reaper - If you're reading this (or anyone else who likes to help people) Your site rox for setup, your script/install sequence is top-notch. But you guys all leave the client side in the dark. Years ago, there used to be a wow patch repository - Site is still run, but no files, allegedly due to Chinese Hackers?? He offers a link to the 'latest' patches, but nothing like what I need.
Like I said, I really don't care what version I run - I just need something that has a server with a version of patch that is downloadable and therefore installable for my wow client
I don't know what 5472 was, but there isn't a single reference of it anywhere in terms of release notes or downloads.
Can someone help a (sorta) n00b?
