    I currently run a UO & EQ server. This Friday, I setup my own WOW server on the same box (using the same MySQL as the EQ emulator runs) and it seems to run great (I can run 3 diferent MMOs on one server because there is only a handful of friends who bounce between the different MMOs). My wife and I have been playing for a couple days now and we think it runs great. Before I started my EQ emulated server, I posted a question about how complete the EQ Database was. I asked if it was complete to a point that you could get to level 85. I was not concerned about whether it was "complete" or "exactly like Sony"...but merely concerned if I can simply run around and have a good time. Turns out, it was. Some things don't work for newer expansions, but it did not stop the character development. I ask the same thing of this emulator. Will we be able to pick any race/class and simply play until level 70? I am not concerned whether it is exactly like Blizzard, but just trying to get a feel for how gameply will go.

    Also, I chose to use the UDB but wondered what makes the PSDB different? I only have about 4 people playing on the server...so...which DB is better for that (meaning we won't have big groups for partying)?

    Also, I set my server to non-PVP and gave the choice that an account can make any character type (Horde or Alliance). Can you group together a Horde and Alliance character?

    For what I have seen so far, this is truly wonderful. After playing EQ, I am really impressed by the work involved in Mangos and the UDB. Thanks to everyone involved.

    - U should be able to level up perfectly fine from 1~70(Maybe some quests are bugged, not sure I never leveled on a private server) but U should be able to skip those and still be good.

    - Yes u can run around and really get a perfect WoW feeling, but once again U might run into some bugs(not too many and no major ones)

    - UDB is the most blizzlike database, PSDB is a database with random NPCs (like Vendors and Quest NPCs which don't exist in wow)

    - Somewhere in your Mangos.conf file you will find these lines
    AllowTwoSide.Accounts = 0
    AllowTwoSide.Interaction.Chat = 0
    AllowTwoSide.Interaction.Channel = 0
    AllowTwoSide.Interaction.Group = 0
    AllowTwoSide.Interaction.Guild = 0
    AllowTwoSide.Interaction.Trade = 0
    AllowTwoSide.Interaction.Mail = 0
    AllowTwoSide.WhoList = 0
    AllowTwoSide.AddFriend = 0

    set them all to 1 if U want people to be able to interact with eachother on different sides.

    Hope I answered all your questions :)

    greetings,

    Just wanted to add this:

    while UDB database tends to be blizzlike PSDB doesn't have that constraint in general. It's not 'a database with random NPCs' like Aznex said (I'm trying to be precize), but can contain custom made NPC, items etc, especially when they (developers of PSDB) try to do workarounds for quests that don't work. There are also fun PSDBs with lots of custom stuff not blizzlike, but can be lots of fun if you look for that. I have never tried UDB, only PSDB which I enjoyed very much.
    If you look for more fun than in blizzlike content then you should try PSDB, but anyway you should try both databases and see for yourself.

    Regards...
