This doesnt seem to be asked often, that or I have been searching wrong. Pretty much all I find is how to make BC or WOTLK servers. Or maybe what I would like to do just cant be done at all anyhow.

Basicly what I would like is to setup a WoW 1.0 server, private or pub. Then when I am ready, I will update to the next patch, and so on and so on. This way I can somewhat experience the game as I did when it first came out.

I really dont like coming on forums and pestering people unless its last resort.. or the last hair left in my head that I havnt pulled out yet. I used a couple guides I found through web searching, the first I come to find out, Ascent servers are a bit tough now that NCDB files arent being updated or something? So confusing... The other guide was similar, with a couple broken links near the end of ALL that work and no follow up links.

I seem to be ranting here. Anyway, if somebody could please just let me know if there is an up to date tutorial that explains what I want, or close to it, that would be great. I dont mind doing the legwork, Im just getting sick of dead ends and out dated info.

    Thank you in advance.

the earliest version I been having is 1.12.2 working,
and that still has tutorials as I know. That is the time before TBC..

and I wouldnt recommend any patch earlier, since most of the private servers were very unstable and lots of bugs.

Ah I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the input. I dont suppose you would have a link to the working tutorial you speak of?
