i am having problems setting up the server, i had the last version until the more recent patch restricted me from playing, i keep having somthing popping up saying like, mysql is not recognized as an internal or external command. It says that for everything else too like, mysql dump is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.

    PLEASE ASSIST!?!?!?

ahh .. it seems that mysql is not included in your env. path, and to fix it try doing these steps :

    1. Open Windows System Properties (using Windows KEY + Pause/Break if you're using keyboard that has windows key) or by right clicking on my computer icon and choose properties

    2. go to Advanced tab -> Environment variables

    3. Look for PATH under system variables and double click on it

    4. and below line :

    C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin

Note : adjust the mysql location to where you've installed mysql and where mysql.exe can be found :)

    5. Done :D

there is an option when installing mysql that add it to system Environment variables,
just reconfigure the mysql instance using "MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard"
that is located in the start menu inside the mysql subfolder
    hope this help you
