PCSX2 frames per second help

   I am trying to run of Gow2 on pcsx2 emulator on my Asug G50 laptop, i have 4 gigs of ram and i dont know about my processor but this is a gaming laptop,I have a Nvidia Geforce 9800m GS with 512 mb of memory as my video card, i am only getting around 35 frames per second on GOW2,could this be because i am running it off of the game disk and not just a regular file?
