npc question

    OK, I just got my wow server running and its working great except for some problems with npc's. If you attack a monster from far away with something like an ice bolt the monster just stands where it is and does not chase after you and try to attack. Is there a way for me to fix this problem? If you need moreinformation just let me know.

    With all enemies or did you just happen to come across a certain type? Some aren't implemented properly and don't behave as they should but I haven't come across many. It sounds like a problem with ScriptDev2 or Acid Script to me as these control all the actions of the enemies in game. Are you getting many errors when you start up Mangos?

    Do you enter combat? Does the mob take damage or does ir replenish in no time? Is you GM off?

    This is happening with all enemies. They do not instantly repleanish health, they just stand there and let you chip away thier health until they die. If you get within physical weapon range then they will start attacking you.

    It should be somewhere in your mangos.conf; look there. + youll need to have extracted them and places in your data folder.

    I looked in the config file and noticed that i never extracted my vmaps and never enabled them. so i extracted my vmaps and put them in my vmaps folder and now im getting this error message when i start mangos-

    two notes: 1. extracting your vmaps can take up to two hours or longer.
    2. they need to be placed in data\vmaps\

    I did put my extracted vmaps in the /data/vmaps/ folder. It only took about 30 minutes to extract and assemble my vmaps files, maybe i did something wrong there. I will re-extract my vmaps files put them in the /data/vmaps folder and tell you if that fixes the problem.

    Ok thanks for the tip that was confusing me a little bit. I'm just wondering I have the core wow installed and just installed the tbc expansion what version should I patch it up to before I start extracting?

    Depends on your mangos version. If you got arcane fire, patch to 2.4.3

    I patched my wow install up to 2.4.3 and re extracted my dbc and map files. now when i go to start up mangos it gives me a bunch of errors :

    Oops I downloaded the wrong mangos version by mistake, I downloaded the correct version and re extracted my map,dbc and vmap files and everything seems to be working ok now. Thank you so much Pitje for helping me solve these problems . :)
