Hello, I just got everything updated and working, except the Auction House. I didn't have this in the previous version so I am not sure how to set it up. I am searched the forums to no avail. If you could point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if I have something not turned on or not.

ok the auction house has always existed. basicly in the different towns of the game you will run into NPC that are the auction house here you can sell items to other players. Mangos project released sql updates several versions back to fix some bugs in the auction house data. Reaper just now decided to implemt the udates in this version.
To get the updates installed back up your character and realm data with the reaper-x-mangos.bat then run option 1 in the reaper-x-mangos.bat this will overwrite all data base's and put the auction house uptdates in. Just make sure you back up characters and realm data first or it will be lost.

I have done a full installation on the reaper-x-mangos.bat. Also chose option 1, but I still do not have anything in my auction house. However, I DO have an auction house. Is there something I do to populate this auction house like a bot? or do I put things in it for other to buy.(I am the admin of the server.)

you place an item that you would like to sell in the auction.
If another player wants it they buy it.
Its a way to get more money than what a vendor will give for an item and you don't have to keep buging other players to tade with you.
If you ever played silk road its like setting up a stand but with the auction house you can keep playing instead of staying with your stand.

I played retail wow for over a year and half so I know how to use the auction house....*smiles* I was wondering if there was a way to populate it without putting things in there myself. I would like to have things in there for other people to buy. I just started the server up. I have seen bots out there and the new Mangos Rev 5082 said it came with the auction house. Yes, the auction house is there, I can put things in manually, but was wondering how to get a bot to do it. I read mangosproject about creating a bot, but everything in there is the same as what I have in my mangosd. Just wondering if you knew how to change it to make the items appear randomly?

Well you could go into the game and enable gm mode and use the additem command and then put them in.
Other than that no threr is no other way that i know of.
Other than using SQLyog and going into the mangosd.sql data files and editing the actoin house table putting them in that way.
Either way will be timely!

Wow..ok thought it was easier than that. Guess that is why they call it a learning experience. I will try my hand at it.

What I did was
1) create a new account such as "reaperbot" and then login and create a toon such as "reaper"
2) Find out the guid and account # in the character database for "reaper"
(such as with SQLyog program)
--open the characters database then "character" then click the table data tab
--you will see the guid and account tables...then just match them with the toon NAME you created.
3) Edit mangosd.conf line that says:
# Auction House Bot character data
AuctionHouseBot.Account = 0
AuctionHouseBot.GUID = 0
--> change the 0 to the account/guid's.
-you can then look in the mangosd.conf file and change how many epics etc. and how many items there are for horde/alliance etc... its all in the mangosd.conf file.
4) close and Restart mangosd.exe
-works great...you will see items from "reaper" shortly!

Thank you for your post. I did figure it out. I found a forum on another website explaining that. It works, only thing is, it is not changing items every 8-24 hours like it says it will.
