I tried both manually installing MaNGOS and using the latest repack (arcane fire), but it always returns a can't connect, access denied, using password = yes message. I haven't changed my password, and I really don't know what's going on. Can anyone help?

I've had this problem before, sorry I can't remember what caused it but I can tell you how to fix it. Simply go to your Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.x\data directory and backup the characters, mangos, realmd & scriptdev2 directories. Uninstall MySQL Server and then delete the Program Files\MySQL directory, re-install it and then copy the directories back to the same location & everything should be sweet, don't even have to reset
. Also make sure that your username/password is set correctly.in mangosd, realmd & scriptdev2.conf in your mangos directory.

Posts: 3Nvm, I found out what I did wrong. I didn't see that there was a password field in the config files. I had another problem, where mangosd.exe couldn't find mangosd.conf when it is right next to it. I reinstalled arcane-fire and the problems have gone away.
