I tested on anther computer I have, which has the same XP Home and she works, but this computer got reinstalled a couple of weeks ago, so is there anything that needs to be installed for Mangos to work? (like a framework... etc....)

    Administrator privillages?
    Right Click my computer.
    Choose MANAGE
    Goto Local Users and Groups
    Open Groups
open adminstrators make sure your account is in their.
The SYSTEM account should have full control over the MySQL dir and the data dir which holds the maps etc. You might want to add your account to this folder with full control as well. If you can under XP Home.
I run my server on Windows2003 server and connect with Vista Ultimate and XP Pro. So your setup is different than mine. I have permissions to thinks about and set them accordingly.

Other than that some XP Home installs from Manufacturers fall short because they are preinstalled OS's. Acer are famous. If you do a clean install from OEM Media things usually work.

    Hope that helps.

Yeah I can't do it that way, I went to control panel > User accounts, and my account was Administrator already.

The only thing I can recomend is closly compare your settings on the computer that mangos will run on to the one it wont run on and you can try using the run as command on the realm.exe. and mangos.exe using administrator account and password.

To use run as right click on the executable choose run as and fill in ifo. Use administrator account.

Using your way Bryansthl, gives an error "This application has failed to start because LIBEAY32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.", anyone know what .dll that is?

Alright, sorry for the last reply (I just reinstalled Windows) and I'm still getting the error. Bryansthl, Yes all these files are in the folder and "which file is supposed to be the duplicate of mangosd.conf in the reaper-X-version", I don't know what you mean.

I stopped using the reaper x mangos back when blizzard upgraded to 2.3.2. I started compiling mangos myself so I can't remember exacly what the file is called. Its reaperx or just reaper not sure but it dose not have an extenion following it. If your using the reaper x batch file to configure your server it is the file that retains the information during the setup a lan server with the batch file.

I also compilied Mangos myself and it still gave an error (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH).

Since I reinstalled here are the programs that I have on my computer:
    Framework 1.1
    Framework 1.1 Hotfix
    Framework 2.0 SP 1
    Framework 3.0 SP 1
    Framework 3.5
    MSXML 6.0 Parser
    Windows installer 3.1
    Windows SP 2

and all the updates from microsoft (no custom ones, and I dont have my video drivers yet)

is there anything there that I'm missing?
