    Hi,

Sorry if this has question has been asked before but I've been trying to search but to no avail.

I want to set up a wow server so that a couple of my friends can come over and play at my home.

Do I need to follow all the instructions on creating a public wow server, i.e. registering for a dns name, etc. or is there a shorter way (plug and play)?

Also, do my friends have to install the repack as well? I read somewhere about editing realmlist?

    Thanks!

Go to your realmd database ---> Realmlist Table --> change the value under the field 'address' to your lan ip.

Now all you have to do is go to your WoW client root folder ---> Data Folder ---> enGB Folder --> realmlist.wtf

Open realmlist.wtf with any text editor, and replace it all with this:

set realmlist "your lan ip placed here without the quotes"

Do the realmlist.wtf edit for every WoW client on each computer you'll be using.

EDIT: By the way, the repack will only need to be installed on one system, acting as the server.
