well, first of all, when my dad and i upgraded to mangos 6245 we lost our characters but were able to restore them because of backup files, so far so good, but now when i tried to go from 2.4.2 on the server to 2.4.3, it wouldn't work. So now i'm stuck on it and also my father got my brother and i wotlk for christmas, and i'm waiting for some1 to make an update on the actual game of wotlk then the beta. Can anybody help me??? and please soon!

Just Install Reaper and Oatmans latest Trinity/MaNGOS release with a FRESH INSTALL (which will overwrite everything you got) and then use GM commands to get you and your family back to about where they were before the erase. Also in the future there should no longer be any upgrading errors because they will be upgrading to stable versions. As for WOTLK... it all depends on when MaNGOS and Trinity can get a stable version of it out, though possible in a few weeks.

Sadly no... see when Trinity branched off of MaNGOS they desided to edit most of the characters data to make it better for the DB people to work with and would require far to much work to convert this far into the project. Though if you are talented in SQL, you could attempt to convert it yourself. Also you can try to email me at CDTG45@yahoo.com (I also have IM).

Please see the application event log for more detail. Is there something I am missing I have wow 2.4.3 installed I did the vmaps dbc and map extraction placed them where they go. I installed the database and everything else. Why won't the core.exe run.

USlayer46, you have to upgrade MS net framework to V3.5 P1. I think you're find that you have an earlier version on your machine.

You can download V3.5 here, but be warned it will take up to 30 minutes to install, depending on your existing version of NFW and your hardware.

Thank-you Markov, I appreciate the fact that you posted that info. I had to install that as well, I had a little different error, but installing .NET Framework 3.5 was the fix. No other site had this info at the time I did my search. But since I am a programmer I realized what my error meant.
