I've tried for a while to edit my character in the database with no success. I just want to change my stats for now. I've tried using SQLyog and Quice but havent had luck with either. I guess the question is how do I get the values to show in the game. Can I be running the server and change it? Can I change it while I'm in game? How do I know I'm in the right database? Do I need to save the changes a certain way? Sorry this is so vague but I would really appreciate some input.

    Thanks

If you make changes to the data base you need to resart the server. It is also better to do data base changes with the server stopped.

You can use gm commands to alter your stats.

If you use a webpage like MangosWeb (http://mangosweb.retro-hosting.co.uk/ & http://www.mangos-fae.info/download.php?list.10 ) there is a list of all the commands (not sure how up to date they are with 2.3.3) in the support area if I remember correctly.

    Pretty handy in a pinch.

But the MangAdmin Addon (http://code.google.com/p/mangadmin/) tool also allows you to execute a number of more common commands ingame as well, esp. character stats, lookups and gold etc.

As Brysanthl noted you are probably better off to make the changes in game.
Learning the commands and the formats for them is probably the easiest and fastest way compared to diving in to the database by hand.

Sort of requires a LOT of searching otherwise ;)
