I have a wow server running on one computer in my house, and i want to connect a second computer(in the next room) to the server using the wireless network. Is this possible becuase i thinkiv done it before( a year or 2 ago).

I have been able to loginon the second computer but when it gets to retrieving character list is just stays there and dosent go any further.

    Any help would be appreciated.

you want to make sure the ip is the one the router gives you.
    like eg, mine is 192.168.1.140
so in the relamlist table under realmd. you want to change the address to 192.168.*.* (since idk what yours is)
and in the realmlist of the other player, make sure it is that ip address too.

ye it is definatly the right ip and its in both realmlist files on both computers, and also i have changed the ip address thats in the database by using option 5 in the config

and the wierd thing is i can get on to the character screen with the other computer put it can't retreive the chars and so this led me to believe that it is connecting to the server but something else is the problem.

Don't you worry pards your not alone, I encountered the same problem, the other Computer (MAC) can log-in but just displays a realm and you cannot go any further.

Here is a quick check list, see if you miss any details:
    1. Make sure you have the Mysql prog installed properly, the Bin file location and stuff. Once MySQL is running smoothly do the next step.

    2. Know your static IP address (ex: 192.168.0.1 -> Server, 192.168.0.2 -> Client or another PC)

    2. I assume Mangos is running SOLO on you server machine so:
Go to you Mangos Folder -.> Reaper-X-Mangos Folder and run the Batch file: Reaper-X-Mangos.bat
. config you wow server for LAN by running the Batch file located in your Mangos Installation folder,, here you will be ask for the MySQL Bin folder location, username and password, Select the option of configuring LAN and the rest is mostly simple (Thanks Reaper!) if you didn't change much of the rest of the steps are all simple.

    3. On the Client machine edit the realmlist.wtf file to set its location to the Servers IP address.

    4. Run you mangos and assign a username and pass, and set the accounts privileges and set the account to BC.

    5. Try log-in on the client machine and see if it works.

Hope this helps, and review and steps I did with my own set-up when i get back home after work. I'll post again tommorow.
