Hello all I haven't tried setting up server since patch 2.3 repack 5472, cant seem to figure out all the editing changes on this repack 6245, keep getting error message on install, to do with directory path and password ,still haven't figured out where the heck the mango mango is in conf file that i change to my user and password. any help greatly appreciated.
P.S. I am just setting up for myself to play on my pc
fresh install for private server for one

Hello avelmaris and thanks for the quick response I have been doing some trial and error changes and finally figured it out server is up and running just got to figure out the vendors now i did the install vendors but cant find them not even on gm island. Its so nice having my WOW back now i can try out the new stuff with 2.4.2

O and by the way I fixed the problem by changeing dbc directory to where i always had it C:\wow\data
and finally figured out they where trying to say change this section
LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;candy9;realmd"
WorldDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;candy9;mangos"
CharacterDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;candy9;characters"which meant changing candy9 to my password guess i'm just too much a noob took awhile to figure that's what they meant.

lol, its ok, and np, i have no life so i dedicate myself to my server and helping people like you out. lol.
but the vendors that you installed either didn't go in the database or they are in the Entrancte to Stormwind city and Orgrimmar.

I tried installing the vendors again and saw an error message directory not found is it asking for the mysql user name and password and what would word directory name be ? Thanks again for the help

ya, no good!
you have to get a mysql GUI
which is just the graphical part of mysql and ur database.
I recommend using navicat lite.
http://www.navicat.com/download.html
go there and scroll down to the LITE version NOT the full, 30-day trial one.
then when its installed. create a new connection in navicat, with all of your database stuff.
then when you can see all of your tables and everything. Right click on the Mangos databse.
click on execute batch file.
then browse to where the Files for the vendors are, then click ok and start.
that should help.

Ok thanks for that info I have navicat and Quice, but think ill just forget the vendors its just easier to make my gear as i need it LOL. Thanks again for all the help and info and thanks to the team for keeping the repacks coming.

I hope this help.. the custom vendor is located at Stormwind city, Valley of Heroes for alliances, while the custom vendor for Horde, i am still finding... not sure where.. For GM Island, just type ".tele gmisland" in the chat bar, should bring you to the location. eden

almost forget, remember to download the latest custom vendor pack, if you are using the "MaNGOS 6245 (UDB + PSDB), ScriptDev2 r474" at http://www.reaper-x.com/2008/07/11/mangos-6245-udb-psdb-scriptdev2-r474/. cheers eden
