EASY WAY TO MAKE A WOW SERVER??!

   Hey all,

   Im here to recommend a service ive started using called rentawowserver,

   Basicly you can buy windows servers there and then they will setup world of warcraft server on it if you chose for them to or you can just buy the virtual server and setup wow server on it yourself.

   For example at the moment im Renting a server, Plan 3 from them, Pre-setup, Within 2 days of paying my server was ready and they emailed me all the details and i had a fully working Public WOTLK and TBC server running on the latest patch!

   I got full administrator/root access to my windows server at all times and i could use Remote Desktop to access it, (Run - mstsc) or anyother form i liked.

   They offer some great SQL scripts aswell , free to customers ofcourse and setup all servers and email you the details within 24 hours! Speedy Service!

   They also give great customer support and have a live chat feature!

   I seriously think you guys should check this out, never seen it before and it looks very promising.

   lol thats illegal, u cannot make $$ off wow private servers.

   I have just started reading the webpage ... but I think if you are just paying for the hosting of the server .... could that be legal?

   just a thought that will probably make someone else a million dollars ...

   I read the site. If blizzard wanted to it could be shut down. The one point that would get them in trouble is they will set it up for you for a fee. If set up was free of the WoW part then it would be just a webhosting service. But that one thing is making it so they profit from someone else's intellectual content.

   Public hosting a WoW server is against MaNGOS and Blizzard Terms. Blizzard has gone after hosting sites before who were using MaNGOS. Having a hosting site that actually sets up a server for you and hosts it is giving you a giant bullseye on your chest.

   Good point. I'm sure they have sniffers out there looking for this kind of thing.

   Since I've never read MaNGOS's (this can't find) TOS. Is it against their terms if you have your server online, but with no registration page? Sometimes my friends can't make it over to the house when we want to mess around on my server ... so they play online. We all are still playing retail WoW, just use the private server as a practice zone or to just goof off. I'm not out to replace retail WoW, just like to make "What if" characters and Blizzards Public Test Servers are not always up.

   If you play with your friends, go for it. It only becomes a problem when Blizz feels that a hosting site is benefiting from private servers hosted to gain a profit. Registration pages are fine, i've seen some that are really cool, have fun.

   I went ahead and tried this service. I purchased their plan 6. I specifically asked for mangos to be installed, which they agreed to install. I also asked for Chinese language packs in the scripts that they would give me.

   I never received any scripts. They made a remote crappy ass looking page for me to have people signup at. There was no Chinese language packs installed.

   They also didnt install mangos, they installed hearthstone, and claimed it was mangos, then later that it was mangos with some hearthstone elements. Putting it in a mangos directory, doesnt make it mangos, guys!

   The service uses 2 databases, dont ask me why, I dont really know. It's also on a shared hosting plan, which makes everything really slow. Even server resets take 5x the normal amount, imagine 5x the normal wait in game for things - massive laaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

   I got the run-around for about 3 weeks, before I finally asked for a refund. There were delays, one after the other, including "our dev had real life problems", we dont know how to setup a mangos server, this has cost us a lot of money getting this setup for you custom... etc. Finally they told me if I have a problem, goto paypal, cause they dont have money in their account.

   A couple times, they even told me the guy I was working with has no idea what he's talking about, but they quickly got nice, when I showed them screenshots.

   I have to highly recommend NOT to use this service.

    DO NOT fall for this scam !!! I've been waiting a week for a plain server without wow installed - they have my cash but I have not recieved any server log in info from them nor have they returned any of my emails - I have paypal checking them out ATM.
