Database Question

   If the databases are pretty much the same. How come I'm finding others that are more complete?

   I like the database we have. I can find things But I'd like to have an editor like some have or to see a few things a little more complete.

   Can the databases be hand mergered? In other words .. If I add their stuff to our stuff will the program understand it? (I know SQL/ORICAL ... but not C++).
