   So, i tried upgrading my server to the current version, and it just died, i was getting that mangos.mangos_string doesn't exist error, so i decided to go with a fresh install.

   I backed up my char database, and then once i did that i wiped the databases, and did a fresh install. After that, i tried to restore my databases, and now I can log in with the account i had previously created. The problem comes when i try to get into the server. It properly lists all the characters i had created on that account, but when i try to log in, it kicks me right off saying "disconnected from server".

   So i look at the mangos console, and it says "Cannot find GUID 2 in database characters" or something to that extent, any ideas? Did i just botch the install and lose all my players characters? /gulp

   Ok, so i tried using a fresh account. and it died, and then i tried restarting mangos, and it kept fully booting, and then dieing with an access fault C0000005.

   Anyone seen that before? thank for the help.

   Ps, i restored the old database, and was able to fully recover the character tables, so for now i'm still running 51(25?)

   could you tell me what steps you've done to upgrade from 5116?

   is it the same as below?

   1. Run reaper-x-mangos.exe in 5225 release, and then choose backup (dont worry it wont overwrite old backup because the new backup filename will be using date time and seconds)

   2. Choose to upgrade, and choose to upgrade from whatever database you’re using previously (for example if you use UDB then you should choose to upgrade UDB)

   3. And done

   Hey, sorry it's taken so long to write back, i mostly provide this server for other, and with the old version up and running, i haven't put much thought into it.

   Yes, thats exactly how i did the upgrade, and it gave me mangos.mangos_string doesn't exist error, and then i butchered everything all up trying to get that table into there.

   Either way, I'm nervous to upgrade to this patch, cause my players will kill me if i lose their accounts lol =D thanks for the response, Perhaps i'll try again tomorrow
