Well I already tried asking around the fan site but so far no one has told me anything that could help. So i thought you guys would know somthing. So I bought the game a couple days ago and yesterday I tried playing on the internet from the multiplayer menu. I then exited out, went to www.gamespyid.com and created an account and activated it and all that jazz. Then when I tried loging in from the game to get to the server, when i click login, nothing happens. Did I screw somthing up? I've already checked my internet connection in all ways I can and all I was told on the fansite was to click create an account inside the game and enter the same info. I did and the same thing happens. Any advice?

if you're using a router, you may need to open some ports.
as I found do these ports need to be opened,
2033, 2056, 3783, 6500, 6667, 28900, 29900, 29001.
which is specific for Civilization IV.if you're not using a router, some settings might be wrong somewhere.
