If you stop the server and restart it it should get rid of anything spawned in GM mode.

Why you cant target it I don't know probably because it was spawned in.

Restarting the server doesn't get rid of GM spawned mobs, at least it hasn't worked for me. I spawned Ragnaros in Stormwind and tried rebooting the server (this was before I knew about the .del command) and even after reboot he respawned.

No.. target what you spawned and type .delete BE VERY CAREFUL with this command. You simply spawned a version that is not fightable. when you (.lookup creature #) there is usually more than one number, try them each... and do not try them inside a city as this may also stop you or anyone else from targeting said creature

Simply stopping and restarting the server quickly will not work.

1.)go to this mob and type .gps
    2.)type .listcreature 21174
3.)Since this is Magtheridon there should be one that should be there, and one that shouldn't. The one that doesn't belong is going to be close to the co-ords you got with .gps
4.) Find the yellow number before those co-ords
5.) open the 'creature' database NOT CREATURE_TEMPLATE!!!
    6.) sort by GUID
7.) Find the yellow numbers that you recorded earlier
    8.) Select the row
    9.) Press 'Delete'
    10.) Restart server

->He should not be there after you've done all that.
