So I've searched your forums and none of the topics i found on this wre of much hep to me. My problem is on step 4 of the 5225 Reaper-X Mangos private server creation. I get all the way to the part where it asks whereyour DataDir is located. Like in the tutorial I extracted the dbc, maps, and vmaps files to C:\program Files\WoW\data. I currently have all 3 files in there and when I type C\Program Files\WoW\data into the Reaper-X program it says exactally:

'Files\WoW\data' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
DBC Directory doesnt exist make sure to put/copy/move the DBC directory into C:\Program Files\WoW\data

Press any key to continue . . .

Thats exactally what happens when I type that in. I have also opened the notepad verson of mangosd CONF file and changed the DataDir to the following:

    # Data directory setting.
    # Important: DataDir needs to be quoted, as it is a string which may
    # contain space characters.
    DataDir = "C:\Program Files\WoW\data"

I have no idea what I should do from here because from the other posts I've read from this website that is the only advice they have to give me, that and to make sure the DataDir is in "" quotations. Some help wouldbe greatly appreciated.

Ya data directory path should be in quotes.

Did you do step 5 and set up the realm for lan play?

If so now that that is set double click the realmd.exe and if it loads up double click the mangosd.exe

    Let me now what happens

i tried to do step 5 but it said my IP was wrong, which IP should I be using? also i ran the realmd.exe and mangosd.exe fine. But i still cant get step 4 to complete. Does this mean my server wont work for others? And sorry it took so long for me to get back to you on that.

If you manuly put the data directory path in the mangosd.config you can skip step 4 because that is all step 4 dose for you.

As far as what ip address to use depends on how you want to access the mangos server.
Do you want to just play on that computer or do you want to play accross yor lan network or do you want people to play accrosss the internet?

Download SQLyog or Navicat Either one of those programs will allow you to edit the sql data base.
Inside of the realmd data base you will find a table called realmlist in there you can put your public internet ip address or DNS name if you have one.

WoW MaNGOS uses ports 3724 and 8085, and if you use the web interface, it uses port 80 as well. So make sure all three (if behind firewall or router) are forwarded to your PC.
